Peter Cardilla is a father, husband, computer scientist and freemason. On top of twenty-five years as a software engineer, he has spent the past two decades studying, thinking about, and lecturing on Kabbalah. Active in several masonic bodies and recipient of numerous degrees, Peter is a Past Master of Confidence Lodge #110, in Soquel, California and a member of Paideia Lodge #852, a Traditional Observance lodge in Santa Cruz, California. A decorated member of the Societas Philologi (S.R.I.C.F.)–a masonic philosophical society–and a 2022 Grand Commander’s Fellow for the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Peter brings his own unique perspective to the symbols of Freemasonry and symbolism in general.

The on-again/off-again songwriter and his wife live in Santa Cruz where they raised their son and now contend with an adorable shih tzu and an unwieldy schedule.

The Beginning is Wisdom, his first book, combines his insights on science, philosophy, Freemasonry, and secret traditions–particularly Kabbalah–with his ideas for how these fit together in today’s world.
